This is one of the easiest recipes I’ve made, I didn’t even use a colander to strain the pasta! Just one pot to make it all and an easier cleanup. I used a deep soup pot for the entire recipe, you could also use a crock pot if needed.
Alright so here are the cooking instructions for this amazing dish. Take your soup pot and put it on medium heat, add in 2 Tbsp of butter. As that is melting away, dice up 1 onion and add it to the pot. Let it soften up and start browning. Then start dicing up the smoked prosciutto, I bought the thinly shaved one. Throw in about 1/2 cup of it, let it brown with the onions. Next you will need to dice up 1 pepper, I went with an orange one. Add the pepper in and let it soften a bit. Add in 1/2 cup of diced up aged cheddar, let it melt. Once that’s all good, add in 4 cups of No Yolk Egg Noodles. I like using that as it cooks quicker then traditional pasta. Then add in 4 cups of water, give it a good stir and cover with the lid. After 5 minutes, give it a good stir and check if the pasta is soft. Let most of the water simmer down. Once it’s close add in one 600mL can of tomato sauce, I went with Hunt’s tomato sauce. Now we’re going to start adding in all the spices. Give it all a good stir and voila! Dinner is ready.
