This week I decided to try out various different healthy munchies! Well their a tad healthier then regular ones would be. Alright! so let’s get this started.

Alter Eco Dark Salted Organic Chocolate                                                            $4.49

I got the Burnt Caramel chocolate bar, which is gluten free and non GMO. Here is what the back of the bar says ” Our raw cane sugar, lush organic cream, and pasteurised butter are simmered to the brink of burnt for a masterful caramel crunch. Our Swiss chocolatier drowns this golden alchemy in dark chocolate, and then adds a sprinkle of coveted Fleur de Sel de Guerande. Each malty-sweet crunch is deeply satisfying and nearly impossible to resist”. No artificial flavours and no emulsifiers. It is also fair trade and certified organic.

Here is my take on it! It’s a very rich dark chocolate, hints of salt in every bite. Has a nice crunch with the burnt caramel and is packed with flavour. For anyone that enjoys dark chocolate I would recommend this, I would buy it again.

Seasnax STIX, Crispy Seaweed Strips in Sesame Flavour                             $5.99

Made with olive and sesame oil, naturally delicious. This product is Non GMO, no MSG, no trans fats, no cholesterol, vegan and gluten free. Here is what the back label says ” Seasnax STIX are a convenient new way to snack on seaweed instead of potato or corn chips. Our latest hand-crafted creation is a light and crispy treat that you can enjoy anytime to satisfy that sudden craving or snack attack”. Product of Korea.

Here is my take on this snack! I was hesitant to purchase it because of my last post with the seaweed and it turning out not so pleasant but I’m glad I gave this a try. It surpassed my expectations! They are crispy as the label says and have a slight sweetness to them. Has a nice sesame flavour so it literally tastes like your eating seaweed salad but in a snack form. I really enjoyed this, it would definitely be a healthier snack to munch on. I would for sure by this product again.

Panda Soft Licorice                                                                                                 $0.99

Made with all natural ingredients. It is fat free and contains no preservatives. Also contains no artificial flavours or colours. Made in Finland and only contains 5 ingredients.

Alright time for my opinion on them! I’m not really a huge fan of licorice, I usually just like black licorice.. the strong flavoured black jelly bean one. This was the complete opposite, when you bite into it it’s brown. Tastes like the licorice mix my dad always enjoyed eating. It’s very sweet in flavor and has a soft consistency. Doesn’t have a strong taste, I’d rate it as a medium. Seeing as I didn’t particularly enjoy this, I would not buy it again. Although if you enjoy licorice then give this a try.

Luna Whole Nutrition Bar                                                                                 $1.69

I bought the Caramel Walnut Brownie flavoured bar. It is Gluten free and non GMO. It contains 70% organic ingredients.

Here is my opinion on the bar. When I unwrapped it I was actually surprised to see such an appetising bar! It literally looks like it came off of a commercial, presentation wise I have to say they did a phenomenal  job. Taste wise, it was good trust me but It doesn’t really give off a brownie taste. You can taste the chocolate and there’s lovely walnut chunks throughout the bar. Overall it was a really good bar, one of the best I’ve tasted so far. I would highly recommend this to others and I would without a doubt purchase this again.

Larabar Apple                                                                                                       $1.99

This bar is Gluten free, dairy free, soy free, vegan and kosher.

My take on it! Has a strong smell of apple cinnamon and the flavour matches it. It is soft in texture and has chunks of nuts throughout it. Overall good tasting bars, would recommend this to anyone that prefers fruity flavours. I would buy it again.

That’s it for my weekly tries, if you’ve enjoyed it make sure to like and follow. I will try my best to post another one next week! Thanks for reading.
