Easy to make Wonton Soup

This is a very simple soup recipe that uses ready made store items. It is a quick meal to prepare, literally takes 20 minutes! This is a very popular dish in my household, we make it on cold days or when we’re feeling under the weather. Here are the ingredients!

  • 1/2 Cup chopped green onions
  • 1 Pack premade wontons (in the freezer isle)
  • 1 Box Campbell’s pho broth
  • 8 Cups water
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp chopped garlic
  • 1 Tsp Maggi Seasoning
  • 2 Tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • dash of black pepper
  • Salt, to taste.
  • 3-4 mushrooms, thinly sliced.

In a big soup pot add the Campbell’s pho broth and 8 cups of water. Simmer on medium heat until it starts boiling.

Add in the following: chopped garlic, Maggi seasoning, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt and pepper.

Next prep your veggies and add them in (green onion and mushroom). Let it simmer a bit so the flavors infuse.

Now add in your store bought wontons, you can find these in the freezer isle of your local grocery store. Let the soup boil away until you see the wontons floating to the top, give it 5 minutes after that to ensure the meat inside is cooked well. Voila! that’s it! A lovely soup and it only takes about 20 minutes with simple ingredients.
