Yes, my new drink of choice is Hopcity’s 8th Sin black lager. Usually when I have beer I stick with my favourite, which is Stella. I’m a bit picky when it comes to beers, I cannot drink strong flavoured beers. I can’t stand ones that leave a bitter strong taste in my mouth. I know there’s probably a term for it but I am in no way a beer expert, I’ll drink them if I go out somewhere or randomly on warm days. My boyfriend picked up some random tall boys from the store and I happened to pick this particular beer. Now I’m usually not the type that would go for dark beers, I always seemed to avoid them. I can’t beleive I didn’t try it sooner because I absolutely love this product! I actually prefer it over the Stella.
The taste is a bit deeper, more malty. Very smooth and doesn’t leave a nasty taste in your mouth afterwards. It has a very enjoyable flavour and is very refreshing on a warm day. This retails for $3.05 CA at the LCBO and Beerstore.
Here is a description of the product from their website.
“A killer blend of 8 roasted malts. While deep and rich in colour, 8th Sin is pleasantly light on the pallet. Bittersweet and highly drinkable with notes of chocolate, espresso and a slight hop presence.
Hops: Saaz, Hallertau, Magnum
Malts: Pale Two-Row, Roasted Barley, Chocolate, Carastan, Crystal, Dark Crystal, Munich, Torrified Wheat”
All I have to say is no wonder I love it so much! after all I am addicted to coffee so of course the espresso notes seemed pleasant. I highly recommend giving this product a try!
