Happy Birthday To Me!

Yes it is officially my birthday today! Another year older and closer to reaching my 30’s. I’m making this post because I wanted to share my amazing experience from Saturday. We celebrated a bit earlier due to peoples work schedules and availability. I am so happy I got to experience this with our closest friends, I just love making memories like this!

With my boyfriends good planning, I got to cross off a couple things off of my bucketlist. Which were going on a wine tour/ going to a vineyards. We went to four different wineries within Niagara On The Lake by chartered bus.

The first place we went to was called Lakeview Wine Co. It was pretty awesome, they took us into the facility that they make and store all their wines. We tried about four different wines, which were pretty nice. Here’s a picture with all the barrels.

Our next stop was one of my favourites! Caroline Cellars Family Estate Winery. There’s an outside patio where you can eat, as well as a big dining hall. Which was super impressive! It was all made out of wood so as soon as you walked in you could just smell it. We got to order some lunch off their menu, which is very well priced. We all ordered their sirloin burger because the description sounded amazing. Man it was worth it! It was the best burger I have ever had!! For the price of about $12-14 it was an amazing deal for that meal. Check out the picture.

It was a huge portion size, I couldn’t finish my fries! I would highly recommend getting this meal. I forgot to mention that while we waited for our meals to be made we went next door for our wine tasting. They had a unique approach which all four of us loved. They give you a menu and you can choose four wines that you want to try. Well we took advantage of this and all four of us ordered something different and tried a sip of each others. They were some of the best wines I tasted that day! We ended up leaving with a bottle of their pinot cherry wine. I regret not purchasing their plum wine, the flavor was amazing and had such an impact on your taste buds. I am definitely going to make a trip down there again soon for a lunch and to purchase more wine. Did I mention the amazing price on their wines too? prices ranged from $11 and up. Here are some pictures of the outside!

I highly recommend this winery! It’s all family run and so amazing for the quality you get.

Next we went to Konzelmann Estate Winery, which was just breath taking! The building itself was gorgeous with the architecture. The vineyard backing onto Lake Ontario just made it that much more stunning. Here are a couple pictures of the outside.

The inside of the building was just as nice! We tried about four different wines and I have to be honest. I was not a big fan, they all had a bitterness to them. The place is beautiful but the wine just wasn’t to my liking.

The last place we visited was another family run winery by the name of Small Talks Vineyard. It was completely different then the last places we visited, they use bold colours everywhere. They had a cute outdoor patio for tastings and some locals had set up a stand selling fresh fruits. We tried two wines and two of their ciders. Again they weren’t to my liking but it was a fun experience.

This was such a fun experience and I officially have a favourite winery. I can’t wait to take another trip down, they are definitely worth checking out!

The 30s are the best (though the 20s weren’t bad either). Enjoy life.
